Centralia.

The cross street ahead is Route 61. These used to be densely developed neighborhoods of semi-detached houses. They were (nearly) all torn down in the 80s, after a kid almost fell down a fissure in the ground that opened underneath him as he walked through a back yard. The crack may have gone as far down as 180 feet; he saved himself by grabbing a root and holding on; a cousin pulled him up and out. All that remain are the streets, stop signs, a handful of homes with a few holdouts, and the fire/police station.

It's a beautiful shot, albeit a very sad one, once you know the back story...
